Land of 10,000 Adirondacks

LandOfAdirondacks_Featured

Minnesota is known for its 10,000 plus lakes, but there’s something else all over the state: adirondack chairs.  They are EVERYWHERE.  At least in our neighborhood.  Maybe they’ve always been everywhere, and we just didn’t notice since we were apartment dwellers for so long.  Most apartment balconies do not have room for anything as big as an adirondack, let alone two of them.  And two seems to be the popular amount.  We’re not sure if they are purely decorative for some people, but we live in the land of houses with adirondack chairs out front.  And we’re starting to feel a little peer pressure since we just have to plop ourselves in the yard when we want to sit in front of our house.  Which is approximately never.  But that’s about to change.

All of these things are supposed to make the work environment as relaxing and ultimately as creative as possible, but to tell you the truth, after six years in advertising, my typical day was starting to get pretty stale. It can grow boring sitting in front of a computer cranking out designs for clients that don’t always see the value in a great idea or a well-crafted ad. I decided to take on this challenge to motivate and force myself to constantly be thinking and looking at everything in different ways.

Friday Funnies and Giveaway

JarOfTreasures

Our recent closet clean-out makes us think about other things we own that would make some people ask: Seriously?  You own that?  Yes, yes we do.  For example, we have a fridge locker.  Say what?

I Heart Etsy

Wedding-132

In case you’ve been living under a rock, let me introduce you to Etsy: a handmade marketplace where artists from around the world sell their wares.  And believe me, there is truly something for everyone.  Most recently I’ve gotten a few gifts for the upcoming Mother’s Day there, but last summer I was a total etsy stalker checking the wedding section nearly every day for things that we couldn’t live with out. And by we I really just mean me.
