Built in 1964, our walkout rambler house looks a bit like a miniature house. We actually did not even go inside the first time we drove by an open house here. But looks can be deceiving, and it is actually quite charming and quite a bit larger than it appears from the curb. It sits on a 1/3 acre lot, and it has 1,610 square feet with three bedrooms, one full bath, one three-quarter bath, a kitchen, a living/dining room, and an entertainment room in the basement along with a laundry room, utility room, and three season sun porch off the basement.
So far the major work we have undertaken includes adding a radon mitigation system, gutting an entire bathroom and redoing it from the studs up, and insulating and dry-walling the basement laundry room. We’ve also made quite a few smaller changes like removing wallpaper, changing light fixtures, and painting almost every room. But the work never ends, and we still have a lot to do.
Stay tuned as we chronicle all of our upcoming projects and add a room-by-room tour.
